Ezra L. Tillman, Jr.

First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, Jr., is a proud native of Detroit, Michigan. Having been spiritually nourished at the New Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of the late Dr. John L. Webb, Pastor Tillman was baptized in June of 1989. He later accepted the call of God into the Gospel Ministry in 2002.

Obtaining his Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Henry Ford College, Pastor Tillman being a proponent of education, graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College with a Bachelors of Religious Education Degree (B.R.E.) in 2005. In addition, he began to study at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California and later at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In May 2016, he graduated from the Andersonville Theological Seminary, earning a Master’s of Ministry- Biblical Counseling Degree.

In 2009, Pastor Tillman served as Assistant Pastor of the Greater Middle Missionary Baptist Church in Royal Oak Township, Michigan. During his tenure there, over one-hundred souls were added to the Kingdom of God within a year. Having been found faithful, in 2011 he was elected as the Pastor of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and served there until being called to First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, in May of 2014. Since arriving to First Trinity, numerous souls have been added to the Kingdom of God, new ministries has been birthed, and keen focus on Christian education has been fundamental to the spiritual life of the church.

Pastor Tillman has been appointed several positions at the national, state, and local level. As a result of his leadership during the Flint Water Crisis, Pastor Tillman currently serves as the Midwest Regional Representative of Disaster Relief of the National Baptist Convention, USA. On the state level, he currently serves as Vice President at Large of the Wolverine State Missionary Baptist Convention- Congress of Christian Education. Locally, Pastor Tillman is an Executive Board Member on the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and Vicinity. In addition to that, he is an instructor in the Great Lakes District Congress, and has served as Vice Moderator at Large of the Great Lakes District Baptist Association. He is also a member of Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Society Inc., the Micah Leadership Council (People for the American Way Foundation), and the NAACP.

Pastor Tillman is an evangelist at heart and has been a leader in responding to the Flint Water Crisis through both direct support of the affected community and a public advocate. On February 1st 2016, Pastor Tillman and the First Trinity M.B.C hosted the ‘Environmental Justice Rally’. As a result that day, over 500,000 bottles of donated water was given to the citizens of Flint. Since then, over 1,000,000 bottles of water has come to the aid of Flint residents from First Trinity alone. Under his leadership, the First Trinity M.B.C has been able to provide relief to the community by routinely sending volunteer teams on a weekly bases to deliver water, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and baby wipes to several senior citizen homes, daycare centers, local residents, and the YMCA just to name a few. Pastor Tillman is a visionary leader. In lieu of the Flint Water Crisis, to provide a more permanent solution, he founded the Revive Community Health Center.

Standing on the side of righteousness and justice, Pastor Tillman emerged to the front lines as the opening speaker in April 2016 at the Democracy Awaking Rally in Washington D.C. He has been award the “Man of the Year” Extraordinary Citizens Award of Excellence in Diversity and Public Service (Atlanta, GA). Pastor Tillman is an active evangelist across the United States, called upon for a variety of conferences and revivals for his thrilling, dynamic, anointed soul stirring approach to gospel preaching and singing. He has committed himself to empowering, embracing and enriching mankind though the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Tillman is a family man at heart. Married to the former Catrina Monique Jones; they have been blessed with four sons: Ezra Lee Tillman III, Micah Nathaniel Tillman, Isaac Christopher Tillman, and Luke Josiah Tillman
